Visa Application
Applying for a visa to visit Iran is a relatively simple process. The first thing to do is to make an appointment to visit the Iran Embassy or Consulate in your city. Certain cities may also have Visa Facilitation Services (VFS) centers that can facilitate the process more quickly and easily.
The Embassy, Consulate, or VFS center will supply you with the necessary forms for visa application form.
When applying for your visa, it’s important to remember that the application process takes time, and that additional documents may also be requested along the way. The required documentation can vary depending on each specific case.
You should allow at least four weeks for the processing of your application, and should by no means make any solid travel plans before your visa is approved
General requirements for entering Iran:
A passport or other official travel document that is valid for the period of your visit
A valid visa, where required
Sufficient funds for your stay (as required by the visa)
A ticket for your return/onward journey
A valid vaccination certificate (only applicable if you have recently visited a country that is in a designated dangerous disease)
Who needs to apply?
According to the regulations of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a Tourist visa is issued for foreign nationals who are interested to travel to Iran individually or with a group for the purpose of visiting Iran, or their friends and relatives. This visa is issued for a maximum stay of 30 days with option of Extensions in Iran. The visa remains valid for a period of 3 months from the date of issue.
Depending to your nationality and the consulate which you refer, it is possible to submit your documents and receive a visa after some days without any reference from Iran.
